Hurricane Sandy - New York Dream Center Responds

Many people were affected by hurricane Sandy. All you see on the news is the damages that it caused, the after effects of a natural disaster.

Unfortunately, there were many people who died. Some people lost their houses, their electricity, their gas, and so many other valuable and important things. Many of which are irreplaceable.

If you were affected severely by the storm, my prayers goes out to you and your family. If you weren't affected by the storm than you should find some time or some way to help out the people who were.

I thank God that the worst my family and I experienced was a little cold weather and not anything extremely serious.

Since Wednesday I've been searching for a way to help out the victims of Sandy. Looking up information in the internet barely helped.

I want to volunteer and just be put in the middle of things to help people ut right away. But all I saw was "Donate this amount of money"  and "Donate that amount of money". Donating is great but I don't have any money to give.

I hardly found clear links to places where I can volunteer my time, skills, and services. And, if you wanted to volunteer than you would have to attend an orientation or training, nothing right away. I understand some people need to be trained on how to deal with people, but there's so many things going on that need immediate help so I wanted to share what NEW YORK DREAM CENTER is doing.

NEW YORK DREAM CENTER is an amazing church in downtown Manhattan that is volunteering and giving aid and everything they have to all everyone they can reach.

To volunteer, we will be meeting up in West 25th St between 9th and 10th avenue at 11am. Feel free to walk up to any one of us.

Check out the video and you will certainly be motivated!

Hey Everyone,
I pray this letter find you safe and dry from the crazy couple of days we all have had. Hurricane Sandy I guess really wanted to make her presence known on the east coast. We are doing everything we can to begin to meet the needs of those impacted by the storm in the city. We presently are working daily in our normal Adopt A Block Site in Chelsea. We are bringing water, candles, and supplies to those stuck without any power. Many elderly live on high floors and cant get out due to no power. Our team has been amazing walking up 15-20 flights of stairs in the dark bringing supplies to those who are without.
There are two ways you can begin to help 1.) Follow us on twitter to find out daily what time and where we will be out bringing supplies to those in need. We need all the man power we can get. 2.) We have started a Hurricane Relief Fund to help us provide resources to get all the supplies needed during the Relief efforts. We NEED donations! Please visit newyorkdreamcenter.org to Donate. What an incredible opportunity we have as a church to simply BE THE CHURCH to our City. The need is GREAT and we will do our part in seeing that need met. The Dream Centers Motto has always been "Find a need and fill it, Find a hurt and heal it." And we get to do just that during this trying time. Let give JESUS an opportunity to shine like never before! To any of you that are reading this that need help during the aftermath of the storm please email or call us with your needs so we can do our best to help you. For further updates please follow us on twitter @nycdreamcenter to stay update to date with all that we are doing.Stay safe and keep our city in your prayers. We love you all!!!

Covenant House: Sleep-Out for homeless youth

Hello Beautiful People,

As of November 1, I accepted the challenge to raise funds to support homeless youth. Please help support me in this important project by contributing generously.
Our plan is to sleep out and experience first hand what some of them have experienced. Also to show some of the homeless youth that there are people who care about them. There are people who say they want to do something about homelessness, and actually get it done.

My team has a goal set on raising $2,000 in 60 days. It might be hard but it can be done!

LariReviews: Elf Blush and Brush

Hello Beautiful people !

This is my first review so please bare with me. What are your reviews or opinions on these products?

Elf Studio Blush:

Color: Tickled Pink
Price: $2.86
Rate 1-10:  8
What?! I love the color, I love wearing it because it leaves a little shimmer.
This color is a little too light for me and it's barely noticeable on me but I still wear it. It was for a very great price, and if I see it again I might just buy it again !

Elf All Over Brush:

Price: $1
Rate 1-10: 9
What!? The Brush works!
I'm not the type to go all out buying expensive brushes when there are cheaper ones that do almost the exact same. I give it a nine and not a ten because the bristles can be sort of hard for someone who has really sensitive skin.
It can be used to apply foundation, blush, contour. I plan on getting a few more brushes from elf.

A lot of people have tried elf products and they resort to - their to cheap, and barely work - but I think they work fine, and nothing can ever be too cheap!

Do you have any Elf products?  Have you tried their 'Studio Blush'?

- Lots of Love, Larimarx33

Beauty Quotes:

BeautyForYouToKnow:

"Tinted moisturizers are good foundations because they can moisturize your skin and at the same time act as a concealer"

"Pick clothes that flatter your body, but don't go too far. People get the wrong impression if you show too much skin"

"Do not over-exercise and fast much because it will slow down your metabolism."

How to get ombre hair yourself!

I think its time for a change, perfect timing to change my hair style. I've never done anything to my hair, I love my natural hair color so i've never dyed it, never had highlights, or even extensions. I'm adventurous but not with my hair!

Ombre hair is a very popular trend for 2012, and I like it. I might just try it myself. What do you think of it? For those of you who already have it, what is your opinion on it?

If you want to try it out on your own here's a video to guide you:  Hope you like it!

Happy Halloween

Hello beautiful people, how are you?
Today is Oct 31 or Halloween! The time of year when it is actually allowed to knock on random peoples door and to speak to strangers, and even to take things from people you know nothing about.

Yesterday I thought I heard Bloomberg postpone Halloween for a later day so that kids wouldn't go out trick or treating right after hurricane Sandy.
I knew that wasn't going to stop any of them, (maybe they'll get to go out twice this year).

I'm sure all the kids, like my niece and nephews, were anxious for halloween to come even though the storm was passing. They would probably still want to go out even if the storm hadn't stopped.

Just a reminder, it can be very dangerous going out trick or treating. Yes, it is fun, you feel like you're a part of all those people who are doing the same thing. You have less rules for a day. You get to dress up the way you had no guts to do any other time of the year, you get to meet new people, socialize, and get lots and lots of sugary sweets. Awesome right.

But there are, unfortunately, some people who do bad things during this ... holiday?
I would advise anyone who's trick or treating and is less than 18 to go with a parent or guardian.

Make sure all your candy is properly rapped before eating them. When you get home (If you're like my family you'll probably have more than one bag full of candy, and you'll reach in your bag and head straight to the chocolates) do not eat them all right away. Candy is and always will be hazardous for you health, monitor how much you or your kids eat, then put the rest away for another day, you do not want cavities!

I no longer go trick or treating because I'm older now and I don't need so many sweets. I'll let all the kids have them instead.

I stayed over my sisters house, cleaned, and learned some Portuguese! :)

So, tell me what did you do for Halloween?
